Zildjian is the surname of the Turkish-American dynasty that is famous for manufacturing cymbals. I have taken interest in them for a few years, since I was given a tuning fork as a present. I have spent hours playing with it, hitting it and taking it extremely close to my ear walls to listen to its oscillations.
The file consists of a sampling that lasts few seconds, repeated and pasted, gradually broadened in its intensity and slightly deformed in the effects of echo and reverberation. It is repeated for three minutes and fifty seconds, gradually becoming louder, and finally stopping abruptly, with a clear cut.
By replicating itself, its mechanical metal voice swells, accumulates tension. Electrical tension, it trembles of vaguely oriental sonorities, with dervish traits.
